Position Summary:

Responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care at West Virginia University Hospitals through involvement in direct patient care, operational, education and administrative activities, and assumes a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy OR Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.

- Must possess current license to practice pharmacy in West Virginia or be license eligible. Licensure must be completed within 90 days of hire. If licensure is not obtained within 90 days of start date, associate will be notified that they will be released from their employment.

-Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 60 days of hire date.

West Virginia University (WVU) Medicine’s Department of Pharmacy has an opening for a full-time, day-shift, clinical specialist pharmacist providing care in the specialty area of Internal Medicine. The duties of this clinical specialist position includes rounding with one of our internal medicine services, order verification, responding to drug information questions, problem resolution, precepting students and residents, patient counseling, and coordination of operational functions with pharmacy technicians. In addition to working closely with the respective medical team, this pharmacist will work with the Department of Pharmacy to ensure appropriate patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy a from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Completion of a PGY-2 Residency in an applicable clinical field OR;
2. Completion of a PGY-1 Residency AND Board Certified in an applicable clinical field OR;
3. Completion of a PGY-1 Residency AND three years of relevant pharmacist experience OR;
4. Three years of relevant pharmacy experience AND Board Certified in an applicable clinical field
