Emergency Medicine Physician / Medical Director

Preston Memorial Hospital Corporation (Morgantown, WV) is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician/Medical Director to provide emergency care services, prescribe medications, and provide in-patient and office consultations in the Emergency Department of PMH consistent with established policies and procedures. Provide emergency care services, prescribe medications, and provide in-patient and office consultations in the Emergency Department of PMH consistent with established policies and procedures. Resuscitate or stabilize patients and refer them to the appropriate medical departments for further evaluation. Fulfill all medico-administrative duties associated with membership in the medical staff section Emergency Medicine. Offer outreach services to PMH’s affiliated hospitals, including Mon Health Medical Center and Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. Provide emergency call coverage. Provide all follow-up care and medical services or ensure that appropriate arrangements are made for such care by other qualified physicians. Provide call coverage in the event that there are no other physicians available for emergency medicine.

For no more than 8-10 hours a month function as Medical Director by performing the following duties: Provide guidance to the Emergency Department, PMH's administration, and the medical staff on day-to-day operations and related professional matters. Facilitate communication and serve as a liaison between the medical, clinical, and professional services staff in the Emergency Department and PMH's administration.

Minimum Requirements: Medical Degree (M.D.) or its foreign equivalent; State of West Virginia medical license; board eligibility or certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Surgery; and completion of an accredited medical residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Surgery.
