Summary

As a member of a multi-discipline design team, a Senior Architect playsa significant role in the delivery of technical solutions, balancingcommercial, technical and mentoring responsibilities.  A Senior Architect will be responsible for:

 

  • The delivery of technical outputs of projects and the seamless sharingof information with other discipline teams;

  • Ensuring technical quality through implementation of best practice andcontinuous improvement processes;

  • Representing Jacobs in liaising with clients, architects and otherdesign team members;

  • Develop and maintaining excellent client relationships throughsuccessful project execution;

  • Develop talent by coaching and mentoring less experienced staff andsupporting their technical career development aspirations;

  • Management of project resources and reporting to the Project Manager;

  • Assisting in the preparation of technical and commercial bid proposals.

 

Senior Architect is expected to cooperate and work closely with multi-disciplineproject teams and with our clients through all stages of our relationship withthem.

 

  • Relevant experience in the design, specification and procurement ofbuilding structures to the relevant standards;

  • member of a relevant professional body, or equivalent level ofexperience;

  • Ability in the architectural design and delivery of projects to a highquality, from concept to completion;

  • Ability to undertake structural inspections and report on material andconstruction defects and provide guidance for remedial repairs;

  • Ability to lead a team of designers within a project, liaising directlywith clients, engineers and other design team members;

  • Experience in the successful management of the design of projects;

  • Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes;

  • Represent Jacobs at external meetings;

  • Sound knowledge of BIM and the ability to implement the use 3D designprocesses on projects;

  • Ability to develop designs to eliminate health and safety risks withinthe design.

 

A Senior Architect must be a strong communicator, capable of presentingprojects and design solutions to clients and collaborating withmulti-discipline teams to achieve the best results.

 

The job holder will need to:

Qualifications

  • 10 years related experience.

  • 5 year professional degree BARCH or Master of Architecture.

  • Drafting/design related coursework.

  • Ability to utilize theoretical and practical architectural knowledge.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio environment.

  • Utilization of design and production software including SketchUp, AutoCAD and REVIT.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Architectural Registration.
