- Sorting and opening in-coming mail.
- Running the mail through metered machines.
- Calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts.
- Deliver mail per the designated building route.
- Make deliveries within the specified delivery times.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Good math, oral and written communication skills.
- Typing and keyboarding skills required.
- Ability to keep work area clean and organized.
- Ability to cooperate and maintain good rapport with fellow staff, clients and visitors.
- Ability to learn HGI's policies and procedures, and attend required training.
- Ability to relate to and have an understanding of the needs of disabled and/or disadvantaged persons.
- Ability to lift up to seventy pounds with assistance.
- Capable of working on feet for long periods of time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One-year experience in mailroom operation preferred (not required).
- Must have clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass extensive federal background check.
