Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Sorting and opening in-coming mail.
  2. Running the mail through metered machines.
  3. Calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts.
  4. Deliver mail per the designated building route.
  5. Make deliveries within the specified delivery times.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  1. Good math, oral and written communication skills.
  2. Typing and keyboarding skills required.
  3. Ability to keep work area clean and organized.
  4. Ability to cooperate and maintain good rapport with fellow staff, clients and visitors.
  5. Ability to learn HGI's policies and procedures, and attend required training.
  6. Ability to relate to and have an understanding of the needs of disabled and/or disadvantaged persons.
  7. Ability to lift up to seventy pounds with assistance.
  8. Capable of working on feet for long periods of time.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. One-year experience in mailroom operation preferred (not required).
  3. Must have clean driving record.
  4. Must be able to pass extensive federal background check.
