Responsibilities include teaching of residents and medical students and providing excellent patient care. Scholarly activity is highly encouraged and opportunities are available for those interested in clinical/basic research. In collaboration with WVU Children ??s Hospital, which serves as the premiere site of pediatric care within West Virginia and the surrounding region, the Department of Pediatrics houses the largest group of primary care and specialty care physicians and surgeons dedicated to the care of children and adolescents in the state. The WVU School of Medicine is celebrating 50 years of accredited graduate medical education programs and WVU has recently received state appropriations to create a School of Public Health. Morgantown, West Virginia is located just over an hour south of Pittsburgh, PA and three and one-half hours from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD.
