Overall Job Summary: The person in this position will be responsible for providing project and process management for IOL manufacturing systems at Alcon's intraocular lens (IOL) manufacturing campus in Huntington, West Virginia. Job responsibilities for this entry-level engineering position include the following:
* Purchase & installation of new automated manufacturing equipment;
* Validation of new and modified equipment;
* Troubleshooting controls, instrumentation, electrical and mechanical issues on general manufacturing and automated equipment;
* Providing support to production for process issues;
* Develop, schedule and implement upgrades to existing equipment;
* Generate ideas to improve IOL manufacturing process and equipment. Develop, test and validate the changes;
* Draft & finalize requirement and design documents, validation reports, standard operating procedures, and preventive maintenance procedures.
* Analyze process flow to improve efficiencies
* Assess and streamline work cells
A person in this role must demonstrate the ability to determine root cause; data-driven decision making; and strong analytical skills. He or she must have excellent written/verbal/communications; strong computer skills; strong interpersonal skills; and must be able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment.
Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
Minimum Experience Requirements: This position requires a minimum of one (1) year experience, although experience may be as an intern or with demonstrated classroom experience. Such experience may include technical writing and documentation; project management experience; experience purchasing, installing, validating, supporting, and troubleshooting automated equipment; and/or other engineering functions. Preference given to those with experience in medical device manufacturing or similar regulated industry.
